THE CB WORLD

The term CB comes to America and comes from “Citizen Band” which in Italian means Town Band. It was initially adopted by the world of American professional truck drivers who used this system of communication to break the monotony of long distance travelling and to help those in need of repair on large roads, often isolated and too far from the town. Later also became a way of communicating between families of the same town district, allowing exchange of information at any time, without time limits and costs. Despite the past several years there are still many fans in the world of 27 MHz who continue to be attracted by the appeal of CB radio communication. Certainly now is more convenient and fast to use a phone number or a chat line, but we must not forget that all this still comes from the Radio background and the speakerphone has always a charm undisputed value. But this system to communicate and send messages for free is not just a hobby ...
In the world of trucking, thanks to radio and CB antennas, truck drivers maintain relations of friendship and solidarity work at no cost, but also and above, exchange real-time necessary information regarding roads, rescue operations, prevention of safety on roads, weather broadcasting and everything may be useful in emergency conditions ... CB frequency communication channels are different, but some are tuned to 24 hours on 24 of the local emergency services such as Fire Department, Red Cross, Civilian Protection, various rescue association etc ..). People engaged in local citizen band communications, both home fixed or mobile on cars or trucks , may participate in emergency operations, if authorized by the local competent authorities.
All people who have fixed CB stations or drive on the roads as drivers of trucks, campers or drivers of other vehicles, can send signals of accidents, blocked roads or traffic slow downs . and then give a concrete just-in-time contribution to all relief efforts to one disaster.
